One Night in BeiJing

WAHAHAHAHA..... China finally unblocked Blogspot. So, I can blog about Beijing. It's my 4th day here and the days passed by so fast. I've had a great time here so far.

First day, I had a terrible time on the plane. Boarded it at midnight. Reached Beijing around 640 with backache and bloodshot eyes. Haha..had no time to appreciate the big change in the airport since I last visited this place. Rushed out of the plane to the immigration stand (so I can at least get some head start. Yes. I am damn Kiasu. But if only you know how long one has to wait -_-) but even so I had to wait half-and-hour. After so, I rushed down the escalator thinking, "YES. Baggage claim!" Noooo...it wasn't. It was a skytrain. Sigh..Haha..I really can't wait to get out of the airport. Into the skytrain and another 15 min wait before I could reach the terminal with the baggage claim. Rushed out of the skytrain and almost ran to the rotator. HAHA. But you know, it wasn't so funny at that time. Just couldn't wait to run out of the custom. Met a pretty happy kp at the end of the line. Okay. So I was pretty happy too. Trying to be a little manly here. Haha...I took a little nap after we reached the apartment and after so, had lunch at this very wonderful place.

Alameda

It is tucked away in one small corner. Step into this surreal world if you want to escape from China. Haha..I didn't want to leave the place.

It's only after we finished our appetizer that I remembered to that I forgot to take pictures of the wonderful and very pretty food. He had this chicken and pork thing and I had salad with some different kinds of sausages. Very, Very Yummy. :D

Yes, very satisfied. Hee..

We shared a beautiful glass of wine.

HAHA...his pork fillet.

My beef mignon.

It is SUPER yummmmyyyy...

The whole purpose of this picture is to show you that I drew a face with my mashed potato. As usual, only I can see it. Hahaha..

Some Massage Parlor

We went to this massage parlor. Had a chinese massage. It didn't seem to have any effect on me whatsoever. I'm too healthy already. :D

Some (nice and well-known?) SiChuan Restaurant

We had dinner with his cousin's family at a Sichuan restaurant. It was a numbing experience. Literally. Hahaha..This cute little boy is the emperor.

The emperor smiles. hee..

2nd Day - The Red Lantern House

In the train on the way to our short getaway.

The seats in this train is covered with some cushion. Quite nice and spacious. Our country can take pointers perhaps? Haha..but this isn't the "metro" la. This is the railway. (Just in case you don't know, there is a difference)

Our getaway, The Red Lantern. It looks cool ah. Yeah. That's all.

This part is quite cool. Because kp booked a double bed (otherwise there is a choice of sharing with 7 other people? Or a single/twin bedroom. Here is the website), we had to seat on a cart(?), which was on a bicycle, to reach our room. It was in a separate location. Hence we reached our final destination (some 10-20 metres away) via this cyclist.

It was a metal cart.

From my cart's point of view.

This cyclist is definately older than 40 but he was riding quite fast with kp and I at the back la! He cycled across the road somemore leh! Scary...Haha..But it was fun. :D

It was a beautiful day. Doesn't look grey-ish at all right. Can't tell that this is china hor. Haha...I'm sorry, but GREY is the colour I'd like to describe China, and Taiwan. It is like that all year round, I don't know why. It is especially visible in winter. Haha..

This stretch sells lots of musical intruments. Looks good. Actually the whole street seems to be for the youth. The shops lining the streets are filled with fashionable clothes, shoes, toys (both for the young and the adults, if you know what I mean *wink* ).

kp had a beer while we had to wait for this irritating angmoh couple because they didn't want to check out on time. They really took their own bloody time leh! Irritating...plus we reached quite early lor. Apparently, there are quite a lot of these kind of people in China.

Nothing better to do...

Some exploration of this olden house. Oh. I didn't say earlier huh. This Red Lantern House is a sort of hostel using the old houses from the dnowhichdynasty period. So our room is the dnowhichpartofthehouse.

Outside our room. The curtain-covered room on the left (with the chairs) is our room.

Some obsession of mine with spring flowers.

The other part of the courtyard.

The linkway to the main lounge.

A fishpond with MANY goldfish. FengShui perhaps? The other lounge (in the earlier pictures) had a pond, too.

We saw this VERY cute and RARE cat. I fell in love with it la! SOOOO FLUFFFYYY!!!!!

It had a partner somemore. Cute right. :D

Brassiere Flo - GREAT restaurant. Webbie here.

Nice architecture. Beijing has lots of very nice architecture around. They seem better than the ones I saw in Shanghai leh. Dno. Everyone keeps saying how modern Shanghai is but I think Beijing can qie Shanghai. Note: This is not the restaurant.

Kp reserved our dinner at this french restaurant, apparently so that I can order in french. erm...HAHA...I didn't of course. BUT. I'm so glad he didn't. :D

Beautiful bread. Beautiful butter....*salivate*

:D

Margarita. I regret ordering this instead of wine. But I got kp to order wine so everything is fine. The wine was GREAT. Very delicious.

My French Onion soup made from scratch. None of those instant mixes. *groan*...HEAVENLY I tell you..............Kp had mushroom soup which I forgot to take picture of. But his soup was as heavenly.

Kp's starter: Escargot. Drizzled with olive oil, mint and parsley. Very, very good.

My salad. Very nice presentation, good mix of colour and flavours. Very nice blend of textures as well. Extraordinaire...

Darling with his escargot.

My main dish. Steak. Words can't tell you how happy I was when I took a bite. Okay, you know there is a scene in the first Matrix movie where one bad guy was talking to the agent in the restaurant? He was eating steak remember? That was how this steak looked..exhilarating.

HAPPY...hehehe...

Some more shots of my beef...

His main dish was seabass. Very nice and fresh.

LOOK!!!! WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..........

Our creamy, delicious, wonderful (I have veryyy limited vocab) creme brulee with something. I can't remember what. But I was savoring every bite I tell you...it was THAT good..sigh..

Posing and happy. Hee..

Satisfied and VERY full.

LOOK AT THIS CHOCOLATE!!!!! It came with our coffee and tea..GOD-HEAVENLY DELICIOUS.

If you're wondering why I seem a little red, it's because of the margarita. Haha..I was trying to finish it ASAP.

AAHHHHHMMMMM

Nice chandelier. HAHAHA...

That white cloth on kp's shoulder is my coat. :D It's quite cold.

We look nice. Hee~

Our ride.

YEAH RIGHT!!! Hahahahaha...

That's the place. :)

Third Day - Breakfast at some chinese place. Soy Milk and YouTiao.

This is 2 portions of youtiao. Sick right. Hahaha..

Kp, all serious about eating the youtiao. Hehehehe...By the way, that bowl you see there? That's the doujiang (soymilk). The youtiao had this extra nice dipping sauce. It was very good.

Dinner - Annie's (Italian restaurant, didn't take pictures) & The Tree

Kp's drinking Irish Stout. Very smooth, very nice.

:D

My beer and his.

It tasted like apple juice with sprite and lemonade. HAHA...nice! The waitress warned that it'd be sour. It wasn't to me. Kp couldn't stand it. Haha..he was happy with his stout. We had pizza, we took pictures, but iI think I accidently deleted it or something :(. The pizza was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good. HAHA..

Okay. So that's it for the past 3 days. Today is stay-at-home day. kp has to work you see. I have been doing this entry for the past 4 hours lor..shag..

Blog more soon. :)

Failure is Relative

:) I feel quite proud of myself. Hee~

After 2 failed relationships, I have managed to change myself for the better. That's more important than anything isn't it? I'm glad I have moved on from pointing my finger at everyone except myself to trying not to point at all. HAHA...It has taken some conscious effort. But I could not have done this with those guys and the people who comes along with these guys.

I really want to thank asscrap and willie. For making me a better person. :D And, of course, find someone better. Or perhaps, more compatible is the phrase to use.

I'm afraid to think too much about the future for now. But now that the number "8" isn't a barrier to me now, the word "Future" is. Everything feels right so far. What a wonder huh.

不知不觉,我们走了比我想像地更远。

希望我们可以一直这样地走下去。

I think using firefox will make the chinese characters look glued together. sigh..18 days left.......

I just watched the 15min short film "Fitna" by the Netherlands MP Geert Wilders.

What can I say about it..

Don't waste your time to search and watch it though one can easily do it. It is (in my asian perspective) just another westerner pretending to know it all. The video is just..a whole load of rubbish. It is basically just demonstrating extremism practiced by only a small percentage of the religion and then denouncing the whole religion just because of this small percentage. This guy took qoutes from people and twist them so that it creates the message that he wants people to see.

He is just another attention seeker.

Seriously.

i love the movies from Studio Ghibli. If you don't know them, they are the producers of Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, The Cat Returns and Princess Monoke. I just watched Princess Monoke and I found myself at the edge of my seat wondering about what is going to happen next. Stupid Americans will never be able to reproduce what the Japanese have done. Wish they would just give up.

Do go and watch. These movies are actually animated in case you really don't know..and they are really really good..good and meaningful messages are hidden within each stories, using characters and strange-looking things to express them. I seriously admire these people who are incredibly creative.

I am in awe actually...I feel so moved by the stories..Go search online or watch it somewhere. It's really good..although some people will find it boring, but if you are like me and you go for the creativity and freshness of it all (from all those 100% copied storylines you have seen over and over again), go watch these movies..you won't regret it. (:

Courage, Fear and Insecurities

Everything is resolved..I'm seriously happy..

How easy is it to forget the real reason for being together when one is reminded all of a sudden, the fear, the anger and the frustration.

How I need the courage...to not to drop everything and just run away from it all.

How I need to open my eyes and ears to other people's emotions instead of swimming in my own.

I need...time. But I'm afraid I won't be given the chance. I'm afraid of another loss. I'm afraid to go through all that again. That this is just another ground-hog day. I'm so glad I found the right guy this time round..

Courage...That is all I need. I need to be stronger.
if i could sum up whatever im feeling right now in one word, i will say i am feeling so reluctant.

i wish to be straightforward and tell people off, but im afraid i'll come across as being difficult and rigid. i just told someone off without much thinking and now im wondering if i did the right thing. could i have kept my cool and said something else that is less hurting?

so reluctant to call and make up because. disappointment. such a big word to use. big because of the weight it carries.

so disappointed...yes, i am.

to tell you the truth, i don't really know why am i putting it off. i know i need to make that phone call because it is essential.

no, don't worry. it's nothing serious...

am i being overly dramatic? am i in the wrong? am i wrong to act and feel like this? is this called self-pity?

sigh.....i just don't want to face nor handle this. it is so...stupid? so trivial? so hurtful...

ahh...this entry is so laced with self-pity. sigh...just ignore this entry..i'll figure it out sooner or later...

Jealousy

Such a sensitive word to use huh..

I guess until I am completely and utterly comfortable with myself and my own body, I will be using this word, consciously or not.

I think I am halfway there, being comfortable with who I am and such..But there is that other half that isn't and that half is THE bitch that is crying out every time a non-human being walks past. Haha..okay. A (in my point of view) better looking/more shaped/much more slender but got boobs girl walk past. Amazingly, I am comfortable with my height! Haha..Finally. It is okay that I'm short. At least I can look good being short. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA........and in the extreme situations, I can escape through small holes of buildings in the case of a fire or whatnot. Yeah, you can say that I'm trying to make myself feel better. But still. At least it works right.

Bleah.

Exams in 35 more days. As I continue my countdown..I am slowly losing the will. HAHA. Like that's a big surprise.

hmm...I know I sound very ... when I say this but..All I want to do right now is to spend some time with kp. Yeah. Very short term hor.

Haha.

okay. The clock is ticking... - so cliche huh. haha..

*ROAR*

I WANT TO VOMIT BLOOD ALREADY LAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

sigh...the singapore canon website is completely useless and un-informatic. USELESS MAN!

I want to find out whether the canon ink number is compatible with my printer and the website contains virtually NO useful information. They just beat around the bloody bush. Like for example, they have this tab called, "All About Cartridges" and you know what came out of it? This.

Like WTF? WHO THE FUCK WANTS TO KNOW ALL THIS???

Okay. So I am a little worked up. I'm just a little frustrated. Because I bought the black PG-40 and then now I realise that the printer model is not written on the box. Yes, totally my absent-minded mistake. But I'm afraid to take out the ink and try it on my printer because! I checked on the net and there is one website that states that it can work. But it is the ONLY website so far. HOW!!!! fuck.

Feel so helpless. Grrr....

sigh....Any printer smart person can advise me...

yx Days to exam - (y+10)x Days to Beijing

That will be my new thinking from now till 25 April. Sigh..had a hell of a week being moody because of stupid hormones. After a climax of tears and wailing (okay, I'm exaggerating here), it FINALLY came the next day. After torturing me (and kp) for 6 days first. Thank goodness for my boyfriend and my family. Kept me busy. Not my boyfriend i mean...sigh...talking in riddles still. That's okay. Its for my own understanding anyway.

I can't wait to jet off to china to be with kp. sigh...Yes, crazy in love. Never thought I'll actually say that on my blog. I drew up a calendar for March and April and counted the number of days to my exams. It is 43. Add 10 days to that and its the day I will see kp. Keep counting down....

I actually set up shop to start studying. Yes, all motivated to study now. Better clinch this opportunity (while I'm still hot in the oven) to start. If you find this funny and will actually start laughing really loud, YOU BETTER STOP AH!

haha...seriously, I find this funny too. I have a test in an hour...and i only started last night. Here's a toast to my motivation! hahahahahahahahaha...........
